Mark Slaughter ... Backstage for a NEON interview and photo shoot at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, NY. Slaughter, one- time singer with the Vinnie Vincent Invasion was opening for Kiss on this tour. Slaughter's Chrysalis album Stick It To Ya was all over pop radio and MTV with the singles "Fly To The Angels" and "Up All Night" and was getting loads of attention that evening. Later on, Gene Simmons strutted regally (and rather arrogantly) through the room lest the press and sweet young groupies forget that Kiss, not Slaughter, was headlining the show.
Gary Sunshine ... Circus of Powers' bluesy guitarist lets Lorry get an up-close look at his impressive tattoos at the VIP bar that Handsome Dick Manitoba hosted downstairs at the Ritz in New York (that's a really cool popcorn machine in the background). Sunshine's nasty yet tasteful guitar work was later featured with New York Loose and the Silos. More recently, Gary made an appearance with Guns 'N Roses on the End of Days soundtrack that's also featured on their upcoming Chinese Democracy album.
