Records:
Hard Luck City / Cool / Patch Me Up Later
1988 cassette only released to clubs, college radio and by mail order
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Dave Clark, bass

Jeff Rey's notes: Recorded this at The Place above Peggy Sue’s on University Place where we also rehearsed. Lorry’s brother saved our ass (again!) when our bass player  never showed up. Dave learned all three tunes in about ten minutes and played them better then they ever sounded – before or since. Our first stab at having a more structured sound to fit the NY metal scene that centered around the Cat Club. It’s still the same basic punk 'n roll band, but leaning more towards the heavy bottom side of things. A very hot recording.

Downtown / Don’t Give A Fuck
1990 cassette only released to clubs, college radio and by mail order
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Brad Allen, bass; Frank Neal, drums

Notes: By this time we were a group that had been working together for a while and had quite a few major gigs under our belt. We recorded this right after Lorry wrote both songs so although we’re a tight unit, a real spontaneity comes through. Recorded at the Russian Studio, but it sounds live. One of our better studio recordings.

Selected other recordings:
Live at Limelight – 1989
Video
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Steve Harlow, bass; Scott Harris, drums

Notes: Shelly and Tony of Boston's Phantoms shot this chronicle of Lorry Doll ‘n’ the Wild Ones at the infamous Limelight’s Metal Church. I think we played with Skin and Bones another neo-punk metal band. Unfortunately, sound is off the camera, but we sure look pretty cool. A couple record company people putting out feelers backstage after the show. We told them not to waste their time since our rhythm section had just quit. Why? I’m still not sure, but  they started up their own band which never got out of the rehearsal phase...so it goes.

Live at Limelight – 1990

Video
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Brad Allen, bass; Frank Neal, drums

Notes: Metal Church again - same venue, new rhythm section. Playing between sets for Molly Brown, who had just been signed. No disrespect, but they kinda put the (very) large crowd to sleep – we woke ‘em back up! Includes some risqué backstage groupie action and unplugged warm ups.

Live at the Cat Club – 1990
Video
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Brad Allen, bass; Frank Neal, drums

Notes: Pretty much the same show as above, but this time shot by Dave Clark at Don Hill’s Cat Club. Hosted by Tommy Gunn, this was the epicenter of the New York metal scene. A set that displays how tight the band had gotten, but again unfortunately sound is off the camera.

Live at the Pool Bar – 1992
Video
Lorry Doll, vocals, guitar; Jeff Rey, guitar; Steve Piccolo, bass; Bobby Harris, drums

Notes: This was our new band so we did this set at the tiny Pool Bar under the name Leopard Skin which we sometimes used when we broke in new material. It’s pretty loose, but some really good blues covers and this was one of  the better rhythm sections we had played with. Unfortunately, the New York metal scene had all but dried up with almost all the signed NYC acts dropped by their labels by this time. Would've liked to have gigged more with these guys.
New York City, August 4, 1990 - Recording "Downtown" at the Russian Studio.
